Established in the 1930s, Santa Elena, located in Palo de Campana, Santa Ana on the Santa Ana volcano, is renowned for its fertile volcanic soil enriched by ash deposits. Recognized as one of the country’s top coffee farms, it has participated in several Cup of Excellence programs. Adjacent to the “Parque Nacional Los Volcanes” reserve, the farm preserves natural forest and supports abundant biodiversity. Coffee is traditionally grown under shade provided by over 60 tree species, primarily Ingas, maintaining sustainability and protecting the native ecosystem.
